About the Unit

the Global Engagement and Partnerships (GEP) Division is responsible for delivering the University of Newcastle’s lead strategies, including Internationalisation, a foundational element of the strategic vision Looking Ahead (2020-2025).

The division engages collaboratively across the globe, building the University’s profile and reputation and creating diverse opportunity for students, staff, alumni and community. Through the Global Engagement and Partnerships Strategy, the division develops partnerships with like-minded institutions and industry to drive high quality research and world-class education, and deeply engages an integrated global community of alumni and friends.

Global Office works collaboratively to position the University as a lead study destination for students from across the globe. The Global Office lead international student recruitment efforts, international student and global mobility and facilitate sustainable institutional collaborations and partnerships which enhance the University’s international engagement across the spectrum.

You will be a proven senior leader with experience in managing high performance sales teams with a record of accomplishment in driving growth and delivering high-level projects. You will position The University as a partner of choice for a designated group of universities, research centers and commercial education providers.

You will oversee networks and relationships in countries, have a solid understanding of student profiles in alignment with University of Newcastle programs and provide leadership to the Business Development team, including Regional Managers and College partners. The role is offered as a five-year fixed term contract.

Key priorities for this critical position include:

  • Managing and growing student recruitment channels;
  • Identifying, developing and supporting institutional partnerships; and
  • Developing and implementing international plans in collaboration with colleges and stakeholders.

  • high-level oral and written communication skills, including cross-cultural sensitivity and the ability to facilitate formal presentations;
  • demonstrated experience as an effective manager with proven resource, people and conflict management skills to build and manage effective teams; and
  • proven ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.

    7. Extensive experience in using corporate systems such as student/financial administration systems and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) and Marketing Automation software.
    8. High-level organizational skills, including the ability to manage multiple complex tasks with competing deadlines.
